Everyone either thinks they know what to do or that there’s nothing they can do. The problem is that we aren’t doing anything that even resembles thinking — especially collectively. So we do not have an intelligent context or orientation from which to even begin to see or think.

Absent that, what do we expect to accomplish? Something that apes thinking and mimics expertise or authority. Opinion. Conversion schemes. Predators. Parasites. Gambits that garner followers and invent fake leaders. Stupid masquerading as heroic. Pyramid schemes whose currency is human lives and minds. And ‘just tangentially’ includes most if not all of the remaining terrestrial ecologies.

So we have to establish the possibility of learning and seeing together. Contexts in which this is the imperative. And bodies of agency that actively discover and embody something like humanity, mutuality, perspectival excellence, and actual agency. This is the fundamental imperative.

But there’s a codicil: most of what he ‘have to do’ is simply cessation. We have to stop doing everything other than what is truly imperative; we have to stop doing everything that is masquerading as just, profitable, ‘logical’ progressive, economically viable, and so on. We cannot even see the table when it is practically made of mimics, and these mimics are our membership and compliance in lethal fictions.

We need foundations that are not compelled to corrupt themselves for publicity, power or profit — and as these are not forthcoming from any present branch of culture — we must invent and become them. Now. And this is not a what. It’s the actualization of the ideals implicit in ‘we’.
