“What is an angel? First, we must separate the fictions and images from their referent, which is long lost to direct human experience. For it is not a being in the sense we imagine, and is, rather, a localized extension of all being. In a sense, a fingertip of the hand of Origin. Now ‘what’ this is, will never be known, for it is beyond all categories. Most generally, it is not a being, per se, but a presence in some being, familiar or otherwise, of intelligence itself. Yet this intelligence is »much more than familiar. It is »more familiar than ourselves. More familiar than the sun or sky.

Although it is our nature to have congress with this order of intelligence and our minds are founded in it — it is our habit and expectation that such things are impossible, miraculous, or fantastical. They are none of these. Our expectations, however, are.

Let us begin here, then. Dismissing all previous models, ideas and concepts, one who is true of heart may reach for contact directly. Many claim such contact, but very few of them display the signs of it. Those signs are intelligences of unimaginable sophistication and sobriety.

And love”
