This is perhaps first example I have ever seen of a literary technique that allows both aspects of mind, the verbal and the non-verbal, to be ‘heard’ simultaneously, allowing us the priceless intelligence available from understanding just how differently they experience the world. See, one of them actually experiences the world. The other? Primarily, it experiences the words in makes about about world.
